The mission of Tennis Tours International is to provide world class travel,
tennis viewing, instruction, and playing. TTi retains Steve Clark as the Director of
Tennis who works to meet all of your tennis needs 24/7. He brings a high energy
and love of tennis to TTi as well as playing, coaching, and traveling
experience.
Steve has twenty-two years of NCAA coaching experience, seventeen of them at
nationally recognized UC Irvine, where under his leadership Steve produced the
top six ranked NCAA individuals, top sixteen ranked teams, several conference
championships, and multiple national and regional awards for his teams and
players. Steve was selected among elite coaches nationally to assess, discuss,
and work with other national coaches on behalf of the USTA High Performance
Program. He is currently the Director of Tennis and Head Professional at the
Spokane Racquet Club (SRC) in Spokane, Washington.
In addition to his collegiate coaching and current position at SRC, Steve has
coached or directed tennis programs in Jamaica, England, Canada, Mexico,
Netherlands, Germany, and more. As a collegiate player Steve was an All-American
at UC Davis and the #2 nationally ranked doubles player. After a summer as a
member of the World Team Tennis (WTT) Sacramento Capitals in 1985, he began
coaching, and has been doing so ever since. When he gets a chance to play
satellite, future, open tournaments or professional exhibitions he looks forward
to the opportunities.
When he is not on court, Steve is with his family, working on a PhD in
Education, and training as an E Dan Kyo Sa (2nd Degree Midnight blue belt or
“Black Belt” Instructor) with the Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan World Federation
where he is recognized with the title to run a studio to teach and promote the
art. He has won regional, national, and international competitions in sparring
and forms.
Steve is married to his wonderful wife, Kelly, of seventeen years and they have
three children. He loves many sports besides tennis, including windsurfing,
scuba, basketball and more. He enjoys spending his free time with Kelly and the
kids as much as possible.
